Located less than 10 minutes from the center of Derwood, this local course is always in excellent condition. Renovations in 2002 added 35 greenside bunkers, 19 fairway bunkers and a brand new 5000 square foot clubhouse. The result is a beautiful course that won't crush the spirit of a duffer, but has plenty of challenges for the more accomplished golfer.

Join us the second Monday in OCTOBER for the fifteenth annual Derwood Open.  Registration starts at 7:30 am, with a shotgun start at 9:00 am. The driving range and practice green will be open for warming up during registration. 

What: Four ball scramble

Our four ball scramble is "Texas Style" - perfect for golfers of all skill levels.  All golfers in the foursome tee off. Wherever the best tee shot ends up, all the other golfers pick up their ball and drop by the best shot. All golfers then shoot their second shot from that location. Again they select the best shot and the other three golfers drop their balls at that location. This continues until the ball is in the hole and one score is recorded for the foursome. Picking the best shot may sound easy, but wait until your group is on the green deciding between an 8 foot downhill putt with lots of break and a 16 foot uphill alternative!

You might want to bring some extra cash - mulligans will be sold at registration for $5 each or 3 for $10. Believe it or not, some shots take more than 4 attempts to get a decent result, you'll be glad to have them. The USGA may not approve, but this isn't their event!
